Professional Development = Education Industry Solution Practice Managers

What are Education ISPMs? Formerly called Education Advocates, the Education Industry Solutions Practice Managers are experts at incorporating technology into learning environments. Education ISPMs are all former classroom teachers and/or librarians. They are employed by the AT&T family of companies to support our education customers use of Internet, videoconferencing, Web2.0, and other emerging technologies by providing customized training, presentations, hands-on workshops, and instructional materials.

They can provide inservice training, professional development, conference presentations, technology insight, or "in-kind" donations for grant proposals where appropriate. They work closely with sales to help you make informed decisions about telecommunications, technology, and education.

Education ISPMs are available to assist in any state in which AT&T operates. Use our KNE Feedback form to contact your Education ISPM.

Why do we do it?
All too often technology decisions are made with little thought as to how staff will actually use it. You may be left on your own with no training or strategic support! We realized a long time ago that simply providing technology was not enough to assure successful integration into the classroom and library. In response, in 1995, a small team of Application Designers was hired to create compelling and easy to use online lessons and activities so that teachers and librarians would not have to create their own. While these applications were an immediate success; we felt we could do a better job of supporting teachers and librarians. In 1996, we hired technology-savvy teachers to demonstrate how these lessons and activities can be incorporated into the classroom and library. The program has changed considerably over the years; but we are still here to help you.

Between 1996 to 2002, the former Education Advocates had provided training and support to almost 80,000 teachers and librarians within the state of California. Visiting that many facilities and talking with that many people gives the Advocates invaluable insight. We no longer maintain a count of the number of participants attending our training or the locations we visit; but why not join the tens of thousands of your colleagues who have already received a free helping hand?

Whatever the latest technology buzz happens to be; you can rest assured we know about or will take the time to learn about it and answer your questions. To find out more about Education Advocates, please use our KNE Feedback Form.
